About Auckland New Zealand
Auckland is regularly voted one of the best lifestyle cities in the world. Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand, with a population over 385,000 within the city boundary and 1.2 million in the Auckland Region. The Auckland region is made up of four cities (Auckland, Manukau, North Shore and Waitakere) and three districts (Franklin, Papakura and Rodney). The Auckland Region has about one third of the population of the whole country.
Known affectionately as the City of Sails, Auckland is surrounded by the sea and has a warm temperate climate. This is a bright and energetic city with a great shopping, award winning restaurants, pulsing nightlife and friendly people. North Shore City (population 205,000) stretches up the East Coast from Devonport and Birkenhead to beyond Browns Bay. North Shore City offers an exciting mix of residential suburbs, Industrial Estates, fantastic shopping and magnificent bays and sandy beaches.
Three major geographical features dominate Waitakere City, enabling visitors to enjoy nature at its best. Features include the breathtaking Waitakere Ranges, the rugged West Coast with its thundering surf beaches, and the calm sedate waters of the inner Waitemata and Manukau Harbours. Young, vibrant and colourful, that is Manukau City. Manukau City offers many diverse attractions including markets, cultural festivals, an award-winning amusement park, the widest shopping selection in the country and a great variety of restaurants. With over 150 different ethnic communities calling it home, Manukau City is proudly multi-cultural.

| Hotel Accommodation Reviews | | | Airport Garden Inn Review Auckland, New Zealand 2 / 5 Star Rating The Airport Garden Inn gets a rating of 2. We choose it, as it was close to the airport & reasonably priced in comparison to other motels. The facility looks O.K but maintenance is required to the entrance, pool area & our unit(which may be indicative of other units.
First impressions upon entering the motel aren't great - facility is surrounded by residential housing on fringe of industrial area in a tough part of Sth Auckland. The entrance is hardly noticeable - overgrown plants/shrubs & trees obstruct the view from the street. When we arrived the gaming machines area was crowded with people - none of whom were staying at the motel. The reception area was O.K but dated. The receptionist was friendly & helpfull. Upon entering the room I noticed immediately that it had no air conditioning & in the middle of summer, something is needed(the fan in rhe unit is not good). Somebody had also carved their name into the furniture, walls were marked & the patio door locks were damaged. The good points were that it was basically clean & tidy with friendly & helpfull staff. very good Ki Chiu LEE Korea 27 September 2008 | | | Park Lane Motor Inn Review Auckland, New Zealand 2 / 5 Star Rating Hotel is located by a good range of eating and entertainment joints. No restaurant or bar on site though. Has not had a lot of money invested in it and many things are broken or simply dont work. Shower Mixer, Gym Equipment Broken - TV not tuned, and keys for doors hard to operate. Feel that the price paid ($145) is well over the top for the standard of the accomodation.
