WildCat Fishing Charters

About Kaitaia New Zealand
Kaitaia the northern-most town in New Zealand and is the springboard for exploration of the Far North and Cape Reinga. Kaitaia is known as the home of the winterless north with a year-round subtropical climate.
Kaitaia hosts a number of Special Events and Festivals during the year including the largest fishing competition in New Zealand. Other festivals include the Avocado Festival in March, the Far North Wine, Food and Arts Festival and the 90-Mile Beach Challenge Marathon. Kaitaia offers good shopping, cafes and restaurants, a public library and a choice of good schools. Other venues include an indoor sports centre, facilities for bowls, golf courses, tennis and squash courts, a shooting range.
This part of New Zealand is also home to many skilled crafts-people working in wood, pottery, paint, glass, ceramics, flax, bone, and greenstone. Kaitaia offers numerous tourist attractions including tours to Cape Reinga, tours to see kiwi and glow worm caves, and dolphin watching. Other tours include fishing charters, scenic flights, beach fishing, wind surfing and horse riding. Kaitaia is also famous for having New Zealand's northernmost vineyard and winery.
