Jim Thompson Thai House Museum The Jim Thompson Thai House Museum, home of the legendary Jim Thompson, founder of the Thai Silk Company, houses an exquisite Southeast Asian Art collection. Thompson collected parts of various derelict Thai homes in central Thailand and had them reassembled in the current location in 1959. Wat Pho Wat Pho contains a 46 meters long reclining Buddha image which is the 2nd largest reclining Buddha in the country. It is also home to more than one thousand Buddha images. situated in the Rattanakosin district adjacent to the Grand Palace. Wat Phra Kaew Wat Phra Kaew was built to house the Emerald Buddha which was returned to Thailand after Thailand’s the capture of Vientiane in 1778. The Emerald Buddha is very important in Thai Buddhism. The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew are located in the Banglamphu area of Bangkok - the Old City. Watarun Watarun is a beautiful, peaceful monastery complex. The towers of Wat Arun are built of brick covered with stucco. The decorations are unique; thousands of pieces of multicolored Chinese porcelain. The central balcony commands an impressive view of Bangkok across the river.
