Beaumaris Castle
Beaumaris Castle on the Island of Anglesey is the great unfinished masterpiece. It was built as one of the 'iron ring' of North Wales castles by the English monarch Edward I, to stamp his authority on the Welsh. But it was never finished.

Penrhyn Castle
There was a 12th century castle on this site one mile east of Bangor in North Wales. However the present castle dates entirely from the 19th century. Open 25 March to 1 November daily except Tuesday.

Bangor Cathedral
Bangor is completely dominated by the university buildings high on a ridge overlooking the town. Down in the city center, however, shyly hiding from view is Bangor Cathedral, occupying the site of one of the earliest monastic settlements in all of Britain
