Segontium Roman Fort The Romans did get here, and this was a Roman military settlement, just on the outskirts of modern Caernarfon. There is a National Trust museum on the site containing Roman relics found there.
Caernarfon Castle Caernarvon is architecturally one of the most impressive of all of the castles in Wales. It's defensive capabilities were not as overt or as powerful as those of Edward I's other castles such as Harlech and Beaumaris.
